September 2018

Hello Blues Fans!

September 1st!  My favorite day!   Happy Birthday Jennifer!

Man, I know all of you south of Flagstaff are happy, but my garden looks so great, and I’m not ready to let it go!  Between the load of tomatoes, cucumbers and 2 apple trees ready for picking, I have no idea what I’m going to do with it all, but I’m going to say this weekend will probably involve canning, freezing, and baking.   Oh boy!

The Flagstaff Blues and Brews has a VERY big announcement!   WE ARE GOING TO TWO DAYS!!!!!   Why yes, I am very excited.   Actually, when Jen finally caved, I couldn’t control it any longer and did an obnoxious happy dance!  So, we are planning music for 2 days!!!!   Woo hoo!!!!  So save the dates of June 7th and June 8th 2019!

Speaking of music – thank you all for the great ideas and feedback!   Every year in August I’m scratching my head on a lineup and I think I know who I’m going to go with, and then I start listening or I ask for band ideas and before I know it, I’ve spent an afternoon just listening to music and researching websites.   This is NOT my most productive time!   I heard everyone about Joe Bonamassa.   Yeah, maybe if we start a go fund me page, in 20 years we’ll have the $250,000 needed to hire him.   Yep, next.   The music plan is coming together and even though I have only one band I started with, I’m excited with what we have lined up!   I really enjoyed all your suggestions and had fun listening to all of them!  We’re also working on getting more sponsorships and coming up with new experiences for you to enjoy at the festival!

Update on the cancer – the last chemo did great, it killed off all the bone tumors and shrunk the soft tissue tumors by 50%.   On August 21st I was computer chosen to participate in a drug trial.  So, I am receiving a different chemo through January, and the trial drug I inject into my stomach 5 days on and 2 days off through February.   The trial is on immunotherapy and I couldn’t be more excited.  I have thought from day one that the body can fight cancer if it’s given the right tools.  I’ll keep you posted!   But so far, other than having to get acclimated to a new chemo, things are going just fine.

Thank you everyone for all your love and support and for being part of the FBB Family!
