Hi Blues Fans!
Well it’s spring in Flagstaff which means one day its 70 degrees and two days later it’s trying to snow, oh and wind. All the wind!
We are busy planning away, getting the final details wrapped up. There is always so much to do this last 2 months.
Thank you… VIP is SOLD OUT, and quicker than we sold out last year! This thrills me! We do have GA tickets, but don’t wait! Get your tickets today, make your friends bite the bullet and buy them too!
Who’s FALA you might ask? Well, we are lucky enough to be the charity for the Flagstaff Blues and Brews Festival for the 2nd year in a row. FALA spelled out is Flagstaff Arts & Leadership Academy but we’re kind of a big deal here in Flagstaff. Well, we certainly would like to think we’re part of the what makes Northern AZ special and unique anyway, especially when it comes to education and the thriving music and arts community here.
Yes, we are a school, if the name didn’t give it away already, a public charter school to be specific, but our focus is on the arts, including music, dance, theater, and the visual arts. But we also help to create the leaders of tomorrow through our rigorous academics, critical thinking and inquiry, community service and experiential learning opportunities. We’re not just an arts school of course, but we’re pretty darn good at teaching the youth of Northern AZ incredible skills because of our highly qualified staff and churning out talented musicians, dancers, artists and actors. And being a part of this festival, has benefited our school, our students and our music program in so many ways, tangible and not so tangible.
And you, the fans, make it all possible by showing up in droves and spending your weekend dancing, drinking and eating the day and night away. We’re so excited that the festival is moving to two days this year. More music, more fun, and more time to learn about FALA and who this festival supports. The kids. Amazing kids. Really the most well rounded, talented and giving kids I’ve ever met. And in the end, it’s all about the kids anyway isn’t it?
So, in the meantime, here’s just a few facts about FALA. But we’re just scratching the surface here. So make sure you stop by the FALA booth, talk to our students, teachers and staff, and learn more about what your money is supporting. See up close what you’re helping to grow and continue to thrive in this community. And that’s making sure music and the arts remains a visible and critical part of education here in Arizona.
