Don’t miss GRAMMY Nominated Larkin Poe

Hi Blues Fans!

Hope everyone’s April is off to a good start! It looks like Flagstaff has finally decided to turn the corner into Spring! I can’t believe we are so close to the festival being here, OMG! So much to do and so little time. We are on track to sell out this year, so please don’t wait to get your tickets, at this rate there will be NO DAY OF TICKETS for sale!

Now, onto our Saturday Night headliner, Larkin Poe. If you’ve been with us for a bit, you may remember they played in 2019 leading up to our Friday headliner. You all were BLOWN AWAY by these two incredible sisters, so much so that I had to bring them back but this time to be our HEADLINER! I don’t know if you caught them a few weeks ago, on a little show called Jimmy Kimmel Live! That’s right, these girls are making a name for themselves! So here is just a little information about the band…

Larkin Poe is a roots rock band from Georgia, and is fronted by sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell. The two sisters have previously toured as a backing band for other notable artists such as Elvis Costello and Keith Urban. Their music career began in 2005 in the band “The Lovell Sisters” which included Rebecca and Megan as well as their older sister Jessica. The group disbanded in 2009 and Larkin Poe was formed in 2010. They have released 7 albums and have played shows around the world, including the Glastonbury Festival in 2014 and 2016. The band is named after the Lovell’s great-great-great-great grandfather.

The latest full-length from Larkin PoeBlood Harmony is a whole-hearted invitation into a world they know intimately, a Southern landscape so precisely conjured you can feel the sticky humidity of the warm summer air. In bringing their homeland to such rich and dazzling life, Georgia-bred multi-instrumentalist sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell fortify their storytelling with a rock and blues-heavy sound that hits right in the heart, at turns stormy and sorrowful and wildly exhilarating. Rooted in the potent musicality the Nashville-based duo has brought to such widely lauded work as 2018’s Venom & Faith (a GRAMMY® Award nominee for Best Contemporary Blues Album), Blood Harmony affirms Larkin Poe as an essential force in shaping the identity of Southern rock-and-roll, breathing new energy into the genre with both forward-thinking perspective and a decidedly feminine strength.
