Hi Blues Fans
I don’t even know where to start! It has been a whirlwind for the past week to say the least. I’ll be honest there have been a lot of tears, and a lot of wine. I wish so much that my mom was here, just to tell me it will be okay. My boyfriend, my aunt, both of my dads, my grandma have all been doing that, but damn it’s just not the same. I sent a message out last week about the virus – we are still moving forward with the Festival. We will continue to monitor the situation and are in talks with the City and County to keep us up to date if anything changes on their end. I have no plans to cancel this festival.
I was heartbroken to learn that our friends in Phoenix had to cancel their event which would have been this coming Saturday. I also learned that Tucson has postponed their festival to the Fall. To my blues fans, please go like their FB page, send them a note of support, and buy a ticket to their next event.
It’s hard to even write this newsletter, I feel like so much of the world has stopped, what the heck do I talk about? I have heard NOTHING that our bands are cancelling, knock on wood. I still have vendor applications coming in, you can see the full list HERE. Sponsors are continuing to sign up, WOO HOO. And I am still moving forward with planning the event. I’m taking a small step back from paid advertising right now. Other than that, I am in full force. I’m tweaking the layout, I’m working with my graphic designer on a more comprehensive map to show where you can dance, sit, sit with chair, and sit with small canopies. That has been a big complaint. I’m working on finalizing our beer, wine and canned cocktail list. I’m working with my Merchandise team on new 2020 designs and buying a LOT of shirts this year! There is still so much to do behind the scenes, that I’ll be busy up until the festival.
I do want to remind you, please buy your tickets. Next week I’ll chat about all the Perks in VIP, and the menu of the food from Twin Arrows. They will be putting out quiet the spread over the 2 days!
This week’s music is from my mom’s playlist… I felt like I needed comfort this week. Her music does that for me, and I hope it will do that for you.
I hope everyone is keeping their chin up during these hard times, and when in doubt listen to some great music!
Jen
