Hi Blues Fans!
I hope everyone is having a great summer. This heat wave is something else! I know most of you are in parts where it’s much hotter where I am but still I’m ready for the rains to start!
I want to thank everyone who’s been responding to my Facebook questions about what you’d change about the event and who you’d like to see perform. I really do appreciate the feedback! While I can’t make everything happen or book all the bands you’d like to see it does give me a direction to go! If you missed those posts, feel free to reply to this email!
I’ve also been looking into the artists you’ve suggested, a lot of them have been on my list! I do want everyone to know that there are certain bands that I just can’t afford, it doesn’t mean I don’t want them, I just don’t have the money for them. For instance we had a lot of requests for Joe Bonamassa, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to afford him. Or Jonny Lang who is still dealing with health issues and has no plans to tour. Then I’m also trying to determine if I should book bands who will be coming through Arizona between now and June of 2024. I mean how many times would pay you see a band in a span of a year? This has a big impact as well on my decision. I know I’ve discussed it before but picking the lineup truly is the hardest part of my job. I’d also like to know about some up and coming bands, I mean you all suggested Levi Platero and he blew us away! Who else have you seen that is like him?
I also got some feedback that you weren’t able to purchase merchandise… we had a limited number of items available Friday and then Saturday morning we re-stocked with more items. I’m trying to set up an online store, but if there is an item that you missed out on, please email me and I’ll see if we’ve got it in stock. I’ve already done this for 2 other folks, so why not you? I’m hoping to get the store up and running by September 1st!
I’ve got a meeting this month scheduled with the venue. They have been incredible partners over the years and gave us a home! However I did hear your complaints over the last two years about the quality of the venue. I’m hoping we can work out something.
I’ve been working hard behind the scenes this month to really get things rolling for 2024… can you believe we will celebrate 10 years? I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years!
