| August 1st… I’m not sure where June and July went but here we are. Kids are getting ready to go back to school, I’m preparing for our other festival, the Flagstaff Oktoberfest. I’m also really busy trying to find solutions for 2020. Reaching out to folks about parking, possibly having free shuttles around town, trash and recycling practices. And then there is the music.
I am overwhelmed when it comes to picking the bands, this was always something my mother did. So now, I’m digging through the long list of bands that have always been on our wish list, as well as the hundreds of emails from you but also bands wanting to play our event. It’s a lot to process and review! Of course I’ve gotten a lot of emails wondering how in the world I will be able to top this year’s lineup, gee thanks guys! But in all seriousness, we only have 10 spots over the 2 days and a limited budget. So along with loving someone, the cost also comes into play. My goal for the month of August is to finalize the lineup I want, and start making the calls to see if I can afford them. Bottom line, I want everyone signed by November!
I’m also working on 2020 sponsorship packages! I have to get those finalized this week, so I can start reaching out to Fender, Ford motor company, Gibson, and United Airlines!
