Get to know Levi Platero and King Solomon Hicks!

Hi Blues Fans!

We are getting closer, less than 30 days out!!! Are you ready? Be sure you’ve purchased your tickets, we will NOT be selling day of tickets! Don’t want to pay to get in? VOLUNTEER! Click HERE

Worried about parking, we’ve got a free shuttle. Click HERE for more information.

We just got in our new 2023 merchandise, and you are going to love it!!! I went by the venue today and because of all the snow, we had some flooding… which has left some areas with some mud. So if you’re in GA you might think about bringing a tarp to put down before your blanket. I’ll keep you posted if it dries up and/or some grass grows in those areas. I just wanted to give you a heads up.

Now, onto two more of our Saturday bands… Levi Platero and King Solomon Hicks!

Levi Platero was requested so much after last year’s festival, and you know if I can go after your suggestions I will, and I did! Levi Platero is a member of the Navajo Nation and guitar player, and originally got his start in a blues rock band with his family in 2004 called “The Plateros”. They toured the US for a decade, after which Levi was a member of another blues band, “The Indigenous” for about a year and a half. After that, he decided to start making music on his own. I’m really excited to see him on our stage! Don’t know his music? Well check out the links below.

“King” Solomon Hicks is a guitarist, singer, and composer from Harlem, NYC. Hicks started learning guitar at the age of 6, being taught by his mother. He attended the Harlem School of Arts, Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Talent Unlimited High School and and was in the Jazz mobile training program. At the age of 13, he was the lead guitarist for New York’s “Cotton Club”. Hicks has performed all around the world, and has played for notable people such as the former mayor of NYC, former governor of New York, and former Congressmen. He also opened for Ringo Starr of the Beatles in 2018 at a blues festival in the Netherlands. On top of all of this, he also teaches guitar lessons and music theory. In 2021 he won the Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist Album. I really think we got him before he blows up! Not familiar, checkout the links below.
