July 2020 Update

Hello Blues Fans!

Happy July 1st, almost time for a long holiday weekend!

I’ve spent the last 4 months being sad and just overall down that we couldn’t celebrate together this year. However I know it was the absolute right decision to make. I also have a Fall Festival and that is highly unlikely to happen as well. Numbers here in Arizona are on the rise, and here in Flagstaff they aren’t allowing any events over 50 people and I don’t see them jumping to 250 anytime soon, let alone over 5,000.

So after 4 months of feeling sorry for myself, and gaining weight things are turning around. I started working out, which I HATE. OMG… I’ve never understood people who like to work out. But I’m doing it! And today I finally feel motivated to start working on 2021 events! I’m planning on spending all of July really getting things prepared to hit the ground running in August. I’ll start signing bands (hopefully all the 2020 bands will come back), sell sponsorships (because I need them!), getting volunteer forms, vendor forms ready. Heck I might even take some time and really measure out the driving range. How much room we really need, how many cars can we fit on site? I felt rushed this year to get that done, and now I have all the time in the world, I just might have to wear football pads and helmet from all the balls. Just kidding, I’ll go super early in the morning.

I also want to say thank you! I got some incredible feedback from our last newsletter. Honestly most of you were very happy and feel safe coming back in 2021! You have no idea how much of a relief that was to hear. Some things I just can’t do, like on site camping. No camping is allowed inside City Limits.

So I have a new outlook this month! I’m excited to get going and to stay positive! Our festival will be back in 2021! I have to keep telling myself that over and over again! It’s the only way I will stay sane.

So tell me, what are you up to this summer to stay sane? Any fun plans? Any new drink recipes? Any food recipes you want to share?

Take care, wear a mask and we’ll catch up in August!

Jen
