November 2020

Hi Blues Fans!

Happy November 1st… we are getting so much closer to 2021 where I am crossing my fingers will be a much better year than 2020!

October was pretty boring here. On October 3rd it would have been our 12th Annual Oktoberfest, and it was 80 degrees and sunny. I was depressed, we would have sold so much beer and had so many people. So to distract me, we went for a long hike with our dogs and it was beautiful. I also spent a long weekend in Ash Fork hunting with my dad. Let me say this, I have never hunted anything before but this was more to spend some time with my dad. I had the best time. We had zero cell phone service, and we just wandered around, talked, and just had the best time. I am also thankful we didn’t see any elk, because I’m not sure I could have handled that.

I hope you all had fun playing my game last month, telling me your dream lineup. I also tried hard to respond to everyone’s list. I was blown away by the responses and loved hearing from you! I hope you got a better understanding of how hard it is for me to pick just a few bands every year, and having to juggle the costs as well.

Speaking of lineups, I’m working hard to secure our 2021 lineup. I’ll be honest it hasn’t been easy. Artists are hesitant, as am I. We are both looking at new wording to protect each of us, in case things aren’t back to normal in 2021. And unfortunately, some of our 2020 artists have decided not to come back. So I’m working hard on more fabulous artists.

I’ve got things like our rentals (Tents, tables, chairs) ordered, our fencing, and porta johns. I’ve got to start working on 2021 vendor applications, and if any vendors are reading this, I’m not going to send anything until 2021.

I’m starting to reach out to sponsors as well. I’m happy to report that our biggest 2020 sponsors have already committed to 2021 which makes me so happy and relieved. With that said, I know I’ll need more sponsors in 2021 than ever before.

What else do you all want to hear about? Give me ideas for our next newsletter!

Well enjoy your November. Have a great Thanksgiving and Stay safe.
