Hi Blues Fans!
I hope you all had a great August, we are getting closer to 2021!!! My August was good, we managed to escape to Lake Powell for a small vacation and it was much needed!
Now that it’s September 1st, I am back on the Blues Planning wagon. The City of Flagstaff is going into Phase 3 of 4 phases. So fingers crossed we continue to have our numbers go down and things can reopen fully soon. I still have a lot of questions, and I’m sure you do as well. What will events look like in 2021? Will everyone be required to wear a mask? Will we need to be 6 feet apart? I’ve spent most of August going round and round in my head, making myself crazy. So I decided enough is enough, I can’t control everything, as much as I try. I need to just let go, and plan as if nothing has changed. And if for some reason I have to adjust I will.
So I am going to move forward with a 2 day event, yes I was even questioning that. I’m going to start reaching out to bands for 2021, I am going to try and keep all our 2020 bands but I honestly don’t know what that will look like.
If a band was to play in Tucson the night before our festival, would you just seem them there or would you come to Flagstaff? If a band was to play in the spring in Phoenix would you want to see them again in June?
I’m working on new vendor applications; I need to update them. But I also need to make them more fluid in case we do have changes come down later. I’m sure all my vendors will be on board for whatever changes might happen but I still want to be clear in the application that they will have to adhere to those.
I am working on 2021 Sponsorship packages. I am most nervous about this. Will businesses come back as sponsors? Will I be able to get new sponsors? Are businesses in a position to sponsor? Just so many what ifs. Don’t you just love planning a six figure festival? LOL But seriously if anyone is interested in sponsoring, or if you have a business in mind who might be interested, please let me know. This event is not possible without sponsors, because I am not independently wealthy. Maybe one day.
